So right now I'm download Deux Ex 3 and it will take ~3.5 hours.
And this is killing me as I want it to be ready now!
Yet I remember roughly 10 years ago using a 56K modem and waiting just as long to download small programs and files.
So much for patience.

I was thinking the exact same thing earlier this week while I was downloading DVD images from a Microsoft site.
It got extra special when the download seemed to hang at ~97% completed after a couple of hours. That really brought back memories :)

yup. I remember not wanting to download a 3 meg mp3 becuase it would take forever and most likely fail. :D
Now a well seeded 700 meg distro can take 10 minutes!

I've often thought about this - even though we have faster internet now, the average waiting times for files is probably just as long. We're downloading bigger files now, because our internet is faster :-) And we're more impatient than we used to be, because we think "We have fast internet now, I shouldn't have to wait!"

It's nothing like watching a picture load, one line at the time...
