Hello all,
at work there are people with Ubuntu and Kubuntu systems. We have a common print server that acts as a gateway to a hundred different printers and is supposed to insert cover pages before each print job.

Except that when you print from a Gnome app, there's no cover page. For example, if I print from Gimp in Kubuntu, I don't have a cover page. If I print from Kate in Ubuntu, there's one. OpenOffice (Java) has the cover page. I should add that this is not specific to (K)Ubuntu, but also applies to Mandriva.

Anybody has a hint as to where I should look next ?

No taker ?
OK, let me add another observation.

At home I have kubuntu and I've been fighting for years against printing problems. I just had an insight: I can print from all the KDE apps I can remember but none of my Gnome apps (I basically only use Gimp). Why is there such a difference between the way KDE and Gnome use the printer ? Doesn't everything go through CUPS ?!?

Where are the hidden print config files specific to each ?
