So, I don't know what happened, maybe it's after the update that I did today, but all my settings in gnome have disappeared.

First, I have a 2x2 workspaces, it was back to its previous 1x3 when I was using the cube. And then I notice that everything in compiz simply stopped working. In the previous version of ubuntu, it was easy. Just go in appearance and reactivate the "Special Effects". But it's not there anymore.

In compiz, everything is the same as the last time, but just not working. No windows wobbling when I move them. No smooth transition between the workspace when I changed them.

So first, I do I restart compiz and two, how to I prevent that from happening again ?

thanks

W

SOLVED: I installed the last driver from nVidia and Compiz restarted... but still not a good reason for it to stops...
