I'm afraid I am giving up. After several weeks of effort and different approaches, I have not been able to install either Ubuntu or Kubunthu on either of two machines. This is particularly sad as the main one suffers memory problems with Vista which I'd hope would be resolved with Ubuntu.
I have managed to uninstall and remove all the components of the installaion, however my hard disk is showing a reduced capacity which I suspect is because there's a partition which contained the Ubuntu system.
So, how do I recover the space being consumed by this partition?
I've looked at several places on here and they all seem to suggest things from within Ubuntu or using the Boot CD. As the USB boot which I used didn't work, I can't do this.
Can anyone help me, please?
Many thanks
Graham
