I had 11.04/Unity installed and because it was draining the computer's resources I stripped it down to almost a pure Openbox session. It's a beauty working with it now highly recommended for you geeks out there!

Now I want to know if I can safely remove gconf2 which seems to be running in the background all the time, or is it a crucial background service now that most other Gnome stuff is already gone?

Oh and the GVFS.. can that be removed also, it has a lots of background tasks running in task manager. A virtual device manager... do i need that?

both still have a bunch of dependant packages (see synaptic), so they are needed
