Hi Guys,
I'm using Gimp to acheive a green screen affect (have a picture of a person with a background, changing background). I've used the technique of applying a layer mask and masking over the background. The problem is that I have accidently gone over the person in some places and can't undo as have done a lot more masking after that.
Any suggestions on what I could do would be appreciated.
Thanks,
EdenC

Just found out how to do this: using the eraser tool works.
However, I'm up for any suggestions of an easier way of acheiving the green screen affect.
Thanks,
EdenC

Super sorry for the triple-post but I've just found out that the eraser doesn't really work all the time - help please!

You know that white on the layer mask will show the picture, whereas black areas will be hidden(masked). Painting with white or black *on the layer mask* thus allows you to change the visibility of area's.
Perhaps the reason why it does not work for you, is that you do not have the layer mask selected. When you want to work on a layer mask, make sure it is selected in the layer dialog: it will have a white border when selected. When not selected, the border is black.

I think this may have been the problem. Thanks! One quick other thing though:
I'm on Windows 7 (yes, I know I'm in the Ubuntu Forums - Ubuntu is usually my platform of choice) and the Gimp tool windows has fallen under the taskbar, rendering it impossible to get at. Is there a way in Gimp to get the tool window back up on the main screen?
Thanks Again,
EdenC
EDIT: Nevermind, fixed.

No, that isn't the problem.... It doesn't give me back the top layer, just removes it, even with white square. Can you suggest a way to do this easier?
Thanks,
Eden
