I am attempting to install the unity desktop w/ Gnome on my Kubuntu system. I got what looks like unity to come up with the Ubuntu desktop option from KDM. I get the feeling it is actually Unity 2D. There is one nagging thing about it that tells me this and that is the side bar does not dissapear at all and I see know way of getting it to do so. I have been in the config for compiz, unity, and gnome and everything looks like it should work but it is not.
I am running 11.04 and everything is up to date.
