Hey guys, I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 for the 1st time. Before, I used Windows 7. I've got a Samsung R418 Laptop and on my laptop the brightness level is too low.. When I plug in the charger, the brightness level is good. I used the Fn up/down key to increase and decrease the level of brightness, but didn't work. I even checked the Power Management section, but didn't work.
Installed an app called Ubuntu Tweak which allowed me to increase the level of brightness when on battery, but that too didn't work out..
Also tell me what to do and where to do it from, since I'm new to Ubuntu
Its brightness is unbearably low... Guys please help me out.... :(
HELP!!!!!!!!!

if you grahic card/chipset is a nvidia then "smartdimmer" deal with brightness

sudo apt-get install smartdimmer

maybe look at the computer doc: if you have Fn keys to tweak brighness
