In fresh installation of ubuntu, I faced problem in selecting packages to be installed.
For example I want developer utilities, SSH/FTP server, Gnome desktop etc to be installed with the fresh installtion.
While choosing and installing packages I was given some clumsy way selecting softwares.
First of all, I was not able to use mouse; only keyboard (on a black and white screen) came to rescue with some buttons like select g for download/install/remove, q to quit etc.
It looks like I made some blunder mistake in installation and ran into this problem.
As of now I don't have gnome desktop, or other utilities as I wanted. When ubuntu boots, it provides me a clean and clear black and white prompt.
Is there any way if I can list, select and install softwares from my cd-rom ?
Kindly help.
