proplem installing eclipse java development kit on my laptop

Hello , I am using ubuntu 11.04,,

first problem is that i installed eclipse on my desktop , because I don't know how to switch between folders ,

I mean that slashed path bar you enter location in , for example :

home/user/etc/applet/tmp .... something like that

how do I choose the location to install eclipse (and by the way , what is the recommended location ?)


also when I installed it and try to run it , it says some java things should be installed in my machine ,
when I tried to install them I always get errors and so

any help ? ummm any good youtube tutorial regarding that matter ? or some pdf tutorial or so ?
