View Full Version : [SOLVED] Problems using Wubi - Windows 7 won't boot

August 15th, 2011, 05:53 PM
Hi there I was hoping someone could help me with an issue that's cropped up.

I have Windows 7 on my netbook (HP Mini 110) and I wanted to try out ubuntu 11.04. I opted to install within Windows 7 using wubi so I could try it out before deciding to do anything drastic with partitioning etc. The installation of ubuntu itself seemed to work fine but now whenever I turn on the netbook and attempt to boot Windows 7 I get an error. It prompts me to go to start-up repair but when I do that I get the following message:

"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
2. Choose your language settings and click next.
3. Click "repair your computer"

The problem is I don't have an installation disc! This is a netbook and it came with the OS already on it.

Could anyone venture a solution to this problem? I'd be really appreciative...

Edit: never mind I managed to get into Windows using the "last known good configuration" setting in the boot menu.
