I have Ubuntu 10.10 for the notebook. Long story short, I was writing a paper on Open Office, a slight pressure on the screen caused the power button to depress annnnd bam forced shutdown. I hadn't saved it yet, cause I was on a roll... ugh.

I turned it back on and tried to use foremost to recover the files. I followed the steps here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DataRecovery#Foremost and managed to create the recovery file, but it won't let me open it or delete it. It keeps saying I don't have permission to open it. Is there any way to gain permission? I'm set as admin so I don't really understand. And since I can't delete the unopenable audit.txt file, I can't use foremost.

I don't know a whole lot about this, I'm pretty new to Ubuntu, and any help you could give would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
