How do I install minecraft on Natty? It is the only thing keeping me from just deleting my windows partition.
running natty 64 bit amd

Installing Java will do it, just right click on it and open with Java! :D

this is true.

however i prefer a script found here (http://ubuntuguide.net/minecraft-installer-script-install-minecraft-in-ubuntu-completely-with-one-click) that does all the hard stuff for ya and installs shortcuts on the desktop etc :-)

then when you run minecraft it will ask do u wanna update, hit yes and u get the latest :-).

Installing Java will do it, just right click on it and open with Java! :D

The makers of Minecraft recommend the proper Sun Java, but it's always worked fine with OpenJDK for me.

To install OpenJDK click here (apt:openjdk-6-jre), then download the minecraft.jar file from their site and click to run it.
