Hi,

I was trying to install Ubuntu 10 LTS onto my IBM ThinkCenter pc. I have a 17 inch CRT. So the CD booted and I see the word Ubuntu and the dots going by. Then the CRT clicked, and the screen went blank and the monitor light turned orange. This made me think at first that the video card isn't working. I rebooted several times and I got the same blank screen after the dots screen. I was beginning to feel hopeless in that the Ubuntu installer doesnt support my video card. Then I switched the CRT with a flat panel screen and voila, the installer worked. And after I logged in, I see the screen resolution was set to a high res beyond the capability of my CRT. Can someone file a report to the group that codes the installer portion so that the installer would never choose resolutions higher than 1024x768 ?
