Password problem

Ihave tried to install ubuntu alongside windows 7 familiale premium------I live and bought the computer in france. All ok created disc, final screen ready to install. my password will not authenticate. Any ideas please

So you haven't installed it yet? Then what password? At what stage are you being asked to authenticate?

Excerpt from another thread - "lso, I didn't have an Ubuntu 10.10 handy, so I used 11.04 (the AMD64 version). FWIW, your problem #1 has been fixed in 11.04; if the username begins with a capital letter, the installer complains."
Also, I've noticed (don't recall which Release), even though an entry does not get the green check mark, move on to the next entry and just keep going, and things correct themselves once you get to the INSTALL button.
