But it does depend on the shoe maker. For example I'm UK12, which can be too small for me. EU47 is generally a better fit since its in the middle of UK12.

Depends on the model of the shoe. I have shoes of size 12 that are comfortable and shoes of size 13 that are comfortable. I also have tries and been uncomfortable in shoes of both sizes. It is best to try the shoe on, which of course is hard if you are buying things on-line.
