Ok I'm a noob so please put up with me. I have seen multiple reports of this issue but no solutions.
I have a Toshiba laptop. I created a boot disk for Ubutu 11.4 and it started, explored, installed and removed my Window's Vista and all previous files. Seemed to go fine.
I restarted it, pulled the boot disk out and it goes to the BIOS screen then this black screen and blinking cursor and it just sits there.
I cannot get to the GRUB screen nor do I really know what that is. I have tried a number of solutions.
Please please help. Don't want to go back to Windows.
(I have no peripherals plugged in, I can get to the BIOS screen, I have it loading in HDD first.)
