Using a Tv monitor to run Ubuntu HELP

I have just installed ubuntu 11.04 on my acer aspire desktop. Im using my tv as a monitor. It is a toshiba 46 inch LCD tv. Whenever I use ubuntu some parts are cut off(like the toolbar on the side and the very top and bottom) I have tried all the screen resolutions at the display menu in ubuntu but none of them seem to work. Does anyone know how to fix this.

Check the tv's menu for overscan/autoscan options...
