I have a HP Pavilion dv6 6121TX with the configuration that I'm giving below and Natty isn't getting installed on the machine. It boots and gets stuck on the purple screen showing a human and keyboard at the bottom, I believe it says "linux for human beings". Well that is irrelevant. Please somebody help me out,

2nd Generation Intel Core i7 2630QM 2.0GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
2GB DDR5 GFX Card
640GB Hard Disk with lots of free space reserved for Linux

Please somebody tell me the possible origin of the problem. :( I can't live without Linux on my Laptop. Somebody help. I gave only this much config because I think that is the only part relevant.

Welcome to the forums :)

Try adding the Kernel parameter 'nomodeset' during boot. Please take a look here. It was intended for Lucid and Maverick but works the same way in Natty also.

 My problem is a bit different because the boot cd doesn't go that far. It stops on the loading screen only. What should I do? :( http://http://lunduke.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/10.jpg
