View Full Version : [ubuntu] USB Boot Problem

I installed Ubuntu 11.04 on a SanDisk U3 Cruzer memory stick using my Toshiba laptap. I set up about 1 gig of persistence. I used the Pendrive USB installer to do this.

I was working with it, installing new applications, changing settings etc. Everything was working fine. Persistence remembered most things on a reboot.

I thought I'd try to run it on my wife's Asus eee netbook. I got it booted up OK after a few problems with the boot sequence on the netbook. It worked great, all my setting were as I saved them.

When I tried to boot off of my Toshiba again, I get to the Ubuntu loading screen and it just sits there. I suspect it is having a problem with drivers between the two machines.

I'm a Linux newbie. Is the a way to repair this installation? Can I expect similar problems if I ever try to use the USB on other computers?

Thanks,
Dave
