Hey all,

I'd like to start troubleshooting what's causing my system to not return from suspend / hibernate in Ubuntu, but I'm not sure where to start. I know it often comes down to a computer not being compatible, but what exactly does that mean? Which part(s) are usually the culprit, and how can I go through and test what's causing my issue? Can I run test scripts that log what fails when I try to suspend / hibernate or reawake that would point me in the right direction?

Any and all help on where to start would be great.

My system:

Ubuntu 11.04 32 bit (upgraded from 10.04)
Windows 7 64 bit (dual boot, separate hard drives)
Intel i7 920
GA-x58-UD3R
Corsair xMS3 6GB (3 X 2GB) DDR3 1333mhz
Sapphire HD 4870 1GB
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750w psu
Lite-on DVD-DL burner

I've edited gnome power manager through gconf and changed all occurrences of hibernate to either suspend or have unchecked them completely. I've rebooted and still had issues awaking. (I was hoping that it was only hibernation, but it looks like this confirms both are issues).
