I have an old Ubuntu machine and a new Ubuntu machine. Both are running 11.4. I want all of my files on my old machine on my new machine. I want to transfer them over the network. Origin machine is plugged in via Ethernet. New machine is on the wireless. There are no Microsoft products involved... so the many, MANY tutorials on how to go from Linux to Windows are not what I am looking for.
I have enabled a share on the old machine. My new machine does not acknowledge its existence... or anything else on the network, for that matter.
I have spent approximately four hours trying to figure out how to do this. Can someone help?
