I installed 11.04 on two machines and I have the same problem in both places. When creating a "hello world" script, for either Ruby or Python, I got errors. When I did an octal dump on the source files I saw that that the double quote, ", was expressed as character 325. I noticed that whenever I wanted to type in either a single or double quote, I had to hit the keys twice.
I'm assuming this has do with my installation procedure, but I'd like a way to fix this without having to redo everything (which likely would result in me doing the same thing anyway).
