I'm sharing a computer with my friend and we have a slight issue. He has an iPhone 3G, and we use it for music on a dock. The problem is, that when we try to sync with linux, it won't even show up on the "Computer" folder.

We have tried multiple methods ranging from different music players, to installing iTunes on Wine.

Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

i know any apple product can be a pain to use in linux even the old classic ipods :(

found this if any good for you ( unsure which distro you have )
http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-To-Sync-Your-iPhone-Device-in-Ubuntu-10-10-169608.shtml

if not then try a dual boot option purely for the itunes requirement.
you could leave a spare partion to store your music on then you can see it in both distro's
with ease
