Anyone ever dealt with this host? It seems to be very cheap for what it is, and I also see they offer Ubuntu.

I had an Ubuntu box on my home DSL for a year that served very little, but was surprisingly stable, I thought about moving away from my current (over loaded) shared host.

Thoughts, suggestions?

I also wondered if one of the other OSes wouldn't be a better choice for a server platform, but I guess in the end, they're all pretty much the same.

Thanks!!

Dapper is made to be both for use as a server and a desktop.

This may be true, but Dapper is still in Beta...I can't see them offering hosting with a Beta OS

I've used serverpronto for about a year with Ubuntu.

It's fine. They work well and are cheap.

My main complaint is that I'm stuck on the 2.6.12 kernel with them. They give me some talk about how the later kernels don't work with the nic card...I don't know.

The point is, I've had a fairly steady experience with them. Just know that the reason it's so cheap is that once you get your server, you're on your own.
