How can I deinstall Ubuntu if I installed it via a disk? I want to get rid of it and just keep windows XP. And the upgrade to Ubuntu later.

It depends on how you installed Ubuntu. Whether inside Windows (a Wubi install) or completely as a Dual-boot system or as a stand alone; ie no Windows. A few more details would help as the wrong suggestion will not be helpful to you.

For now boot into a Live Desktop from the cd go to here (http://bootinfoscript.sourceforge.net/) following the instructions that are supplied including the ones to post the output here.

This is to help us to help you.

In case you installed Ubuntu using CD, you have to restore the windows boot loader using the windows XP CD and some DOS commands.

The above Url can provide you with some help. Do backup your data before all these, as it is quite possible to screw up.
