Brightness gauge

In one of my previous versions of Ubuntu there used to be a neat little gizmo that you could use to change the brightness of your screen. I'd like to have it now I'm running 11.4, but I can't find anything in the software centre. Could some kind person suggest where I might get it?

I have a Nvidia driver , so the brightness control is located in the Nvidia X Server settings. I have not used the default monitor settings with Ubuntu , which is located in system settings in Unity . In Gnome it would be on the preferences or administration menu .
