After using remastersys to make a custom iso of ubuntu 10.10 (which simply includes flash and a wifi scan app) I used unetbootin to make a live usb. However in one of my several machines, it would not boot, just shows 'boot error'
I was using unetbootin version unetbootin-linux-549
I then tried again by using an earlier version of unetbootin (494) and that worked ok for the usb to work in the 'problem' machine.
Before changing versions, I tried all the apparent options in the bios, but no fix.
It is a desktop machine, mainboard is ASRock P4i65GV, bios P2.30, pentium 4, 2.80 GHz

Any comments please about why the later version fails for me in one of the machines? What is useful to examine or compare?

edit: same problem (boot error) when simply using ubuntu iso 10.04.3 on usb in the 'problem' machine. Other machines boot the usb as expected ok.
