View Full Version : How often do you change your avatar?

In the past I used to change it frequently, but I've finally decided to use an avatar that refers to the Ubuntu release I'm currently using. Now, as you can see, it shows a narwhal swimming around an Ubuntu logo. When I upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10, I will use an avatar with an ocelot.
How often do you change your avatar?

Never had one. I hope that people will pay more attention to my words then judge me by my avatar.

Once a month or so out of boredom. I'm thinking of making a Lucid Lynx pic.

Never. I have never seen another avatar that matches the beauty of the one I use.

The very few places I use a avatar, I never change it.
All I see a avatar as is an easy identifier, that you notice before the username. So when people change it often I kinda get annoyed.

Never...

I don't think I've ever changed it in the whole time I've been a member, but who knows maybe I have and can't remember!

And random but kinda interesting thread by the way lol

Not very. On YouTube I had the same avatar for three years :lolflag:

If I find something I like though I'll change my avatar to that.

Exactly. Isn't that what virtual identities are all about anyway?

(Just changed my avatar.)

I only change mine for theme weeks now.

I've seen someone else use the same avatar as me before (I don't recall who it was), people thought it was me, even after I changed my avatar. The end result was that they changed their avatar to something different through their own choice, which made things easier.

That little incident showed me just how much people actually look at avatars to see who's posting something

Never. Well, once. When I first started on the forums, I had a picture for a couple of months of a cartoon guy I drew in Gimp. It was pretty weird looking, so I changed it to this one and don't plan on ever changing it.

Never.

I hate it when people change their avatars as my identification of an individual is visually.

Well I am allowed as many individual identities in cyberspace as I desire thank you very much.

Never, I like to see others remain the same for a while too - helps recognition I think.

Because it makes you seem older than you really are? ;)

I've found one that matches my personality and I'm gonna keep it for quite a while.
Problem?

Hardly ever, but thanks for reminding me to change it. I was getting a bit bored of Zoidberg.

Looking at your avatar made the sound for bloodlust play in my head.

Warcraft II and Red Alert were the first computer games I played to any significant extent. Back then I was limited to mostly K-A rated games for consoles, but then my friend's older brother purchased both and we would sneak into play these while still in elementary school.

Once in a blue moon I will change mine to something irrelevant. I end up coming back to this one. I like Timon and his faithful search for Hakuna Matata. Happiness in life is important.

Lol. I'm about 8 years older than Harrison Ford was in this picture.

(hint: this picture is from Temple of Doom)
