Hi, I have an old laptop that has no working CD rom or floppy and that cannot be booted from usb. However it has had a working ubuntu for some time.

Recently however firefox will not start, I have tried all the usual things like creating new profiles and starting in safe mode. I think its something more serious than that as I cannot seem to install other browsers either. So I figured I would do another PXE install ( which is how I got it going last time ).

but I cannot seem to get it working.

I am trying to use tftp32 from my windows 7 machine and it does seem to give an IP but the client just comes up with an error "No boot filename received" and reboots.

I have used this link as a guide
http://hugi.to/blog/archive/2006/12/23/ubuntu-pxe-install-via-windows
and have found a netboot installation but I just dont know where I am going wrong. Can anyone provide an idiots guide to performing a pxe install ?

thankyou

DC.
