Today's my one-year anniversary using Ubuntu.

It's been quite a journey, and--thanks to the kind folks on these forums--I've learned a lot about Ubuntu.

In case anyone's curious, this was my first post on the forums (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=185277&postcount=11). It's not terribly exciting as an entrance, but there it is.

Ok. Back to helping folks out...

Haha, no fair! My first post is probably something like 'Why can't I install my .exe files?'

Edit: haha! Very close. I looked it up and it was: Where is the ISO file? I opened the .rar file, but I can't find anything called 'iso'.

AHAHAHA I was so stupid. Wait, that was like a couple weeks ago. :(
Winrar owes me four hours of my life. /fisticuffs

Thanks for sharing...Happy 1st Anniversary...there are definitely a lot of nice people here. That's one of the best things going for Ubuntu, keeps me around...I also think the OS is pretty good, too. Back to helping, oops, you beat me to it...as if I could have really helped...

For fun, I looked up my first post

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=31341

I was using the AMD64 version and was having a problem with mp3s...I started out on Kubuntu, which was problematic at the time...plus using the 64 bit version was too advanced for me. I was pretty frantic in the post. It's funny to look at now.

Happy anniversary! I don't remember when I started Ubuntu, I definetly got in on the ground floor and used the first ever version. I do remember that the new version came out real fast after I got my first Ubuntu. Then I went back to Windows cuz I broke Ubuntu (totally my fault) and didn't feel like setting up again (that was preAutomatix) and didn't remember half the stuff I need to setup anyways ;)

Congrats, aysiu!!

Since others are joining in...here's my first post (I think). My join date is Apr 27th, 2005 and this post was made on May 11th so I kind of think I probably posted something earlier, but I can't find it.

Damn, you have a crazy post count aysiu, respect! Especially considering most of those beans were gained in tech support forums.

What a trip Ubuntu has been. I've left and come back, but to see where Ubuntu has come in such a short time has been great. As to my first post, I would definitely not say frantic, but clueless seemed to fit. :) I've come a ways since then, or at least I like to think so...

Great first post, by the way--very detailed.

Great first post, by the way--very detailed.Thanks. While I've only been with Linux and Ubuntu a little over a year I've been a part of the internet culture from the "beginning"...early 1990's anyway...and a part of the old BBS scene before that. :)

Is that why you aren't on the green team i.e. former staff. I didn't want to cause trouble so I didn't say anything but if someone is going to be recognised as helping it should be you.
Your first post shows it. You aren't asking for help, your posting a reply to answer a persons question!!!
Well I can only give you this from here =D> (applause)

aysiu isn't on any team because he said he didn't want to be, despite much begging on my part.

I get to make him beanie of the month usually because that's simply by activity level per month and isn't a "real team" ...

@ Mustard haha

I don't know how to find my first post, but likely it was my first thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=89979).

Talk about embarrassing. All of my assumption's and attempt's were horribly, horribly wrong.

I'd been using ubuntu for a quite while already (other PC's, no problem's no need for support!), and resorted to the forums upon recommendation from linuxquestions forums. I'd been using that forum for a long long time, even before I signed up. Good info there too. Needed graphic's card help, and haven't turned back since.

At least you could tell I wasn't just begging for someone to hold my hand. Well maybe a little.

my first post was a question on october 2004. Rather technical for a first post if I may say so :

I joined the forums in october. I don't know the exact date. I've been using Ubuntu since somewhere during the warty preview.
