I installed Ubuntu 11.04 in my laptop and i like it. Now i want to install it on my old desktop but i'm not sure whether it will work properly. My desktop pc has:
Intel Pentium 4 2.2 GHz processor
256MB RAM
40GB HD
64MB Graphic memory

Will Ubuntu 11.04 work properly on my desktop. Or do i have to choose another distro. If yes, which? please help!

Have you Googled, and read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/SystemRequirements ?

With 256MB RAM I would only advice a non-GUI/non-X server install.
As I guess you don't want that, I would advice you to upgrade to 768 MB RAM and then install Ubuntu.

You could try Lubuntu. As far as I remember, its minimum requirements are 128 MB of RAM. It is, however, not the same as Ubuntu.

xubuntu will work with those spec's. and you could also load the gnome desktop and make it just like ubuntu too.
