Dear community,
About two weeks ago, after some strange, random ******* errors, I decided to just wipe the damn thing and change my dual boot windows/ubuntu to a single boot ubuntu.
That's all fine and randy, and no regrets.
However, that's a dream at this point. Neither Ubuntu, or Windows will install with DVDs and Disks that have previously worked (I have checked the disks for errors, made new disks, ect.).
Live-ing into any ubuntu works, but installation hangs up and dies.
Although ubuntu's Disk-thing tells me my Hard Drive only has a few bad sectors, I still am rushed to blame the hard drive.
Has anyone had similar issues? Live working fine, but installation (of anything, really) impossible?

Edit: Sidenote; How have I managed no posts since July 2009 ;P.
EDIT2: I still have a desktop, and lots of blank CDs. If tests need to be run on the hard drive with (windows) programs, I will surly do so. I'm not too scared in using various software, as long as I know what to use.
