Upgrade Lyx from 1.6 to 2.0 for Ubuntu 10.10

Hello everyone!

I need to upgrade my version of Lyx from 1.6 to 2.0 and it doesn't seem to be available in synaptic on Ubuntu 10.10. Does anyone know where I can find a download or update for this? Thanks!!

I am scared there are no pre-packaged binaries, nor backports of it. You will have hence to compile it, which is not so difficult, see:
