I have an ACER laptop Aspire 5732Z and have had troubles with the kernel updates. 2.35 works nice, all others leave me with a VERY dim display. I can see an image of sorts if I tilt the screen. ANYWAY, with an external monitor i can see the desktop, I do not receive any panel to operate however.

I have to run back and load this older kernel to function. NOW with the latest, the bootloader is not loading the correct working kernel under any options.

Any suggestions?

BTW I tried a MINT 11 USB and the video did the same thing.

How can I ask to have the kernel checked?

Thanks
Cameron

Just a bit of added information.
My laptop screen is dark with any kernel greater than 2.6.35.28

When I add an external monitor to the laptop I am successful in mirroring the desktop.

I hope this helps is some capacity!
