I do research in the field of national operating system exist in the world.
I hope other friends who are interested in this field help me.

I think China has its Red Flag Linux, but it isn't exactly consistent with "Free as in Freedom" Philosophy.

Venezuela:

There is another one named Venenux (http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=venenux), and although it's being developped here, I think it's not officially supported by the government (Canaima is developped by the government, and it's intended to replace Windows in the public administration offices).

Scientific Linux is government-funded, don't know if that counts. CERN and Fermilab!

In Spain we have a lot of distros that, at least, have public foundings:

Including Trisquel and Guadalinex. There's almost one for each county.


Sadly, a lot of them are now shut down (mostly because the cuts in fundings).
