Hi there,

I'm hoping someone could help me out with LibreOffice Calc.

Basically, I have one column with some numbers in.

In a second column I also have some numbers.

I want to divide, row by row, the number in the first column by the number in the second column, and have the result put into a third column.

eg:

Column1 Column2 (Result)
2 1 (2)
5 2 (2.5)
10 2 (5)
10 1 (10)

It's no problem for me to do each row by hand, but it's taking me ages to do this on a calculator.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I'm a complete newbie to spreadsheets, so if anyone could tell how how to do it as if they where talking to a child, that would be awesome.

Thanks very much!

Its quite simple in Cell C1 type =SUM(A1/B1)

Then select C1 hit copy or CTRL+C

Then select cells from C2 to C30 or whatever and hit paste or CTRL+V

It will copy the formula from C1 into the remaining cells you selected.
