I thought it would be a good idea to spread the word:

There are plans to develop a completely new and collaboration focused video-editor, Novacut (http://blog.novacut.com/). If you've got some money to spend you might want to help supporting the team:

Interesting.

I would encourage them to first communicate with the OpenShot team. They already have a good video editor up, and maybe Novacut could just build onto their project. It would get Novacut off the ground really quickly, and then we could see if the devs are worth their mettle before we give them too much.

I only read some posts on their websites, but I think Novacut and Openshot aim at different user groups. They plan to create an alternative to applications like Final Cut Pro and the likes. Additionally they wrote most of the code already and did a lot of UX research and they stated that creating the UI would take only a rather short time.
