View Full Version : [ubuntu] GNU grub boot and shutdown

Hey there,

I recently installed Windows7 and Ubuntu 10.10 alongside each other on my Asus f50fs notebook and Windows boots and runs fine... However, after a little tinkering I managed to get Ubuntu running as well. The thing is I have to manually enter acpi=off every time during the boot process in the GNU grub. My question is how are you able to save that into the Ubuntu or GNU grub kernal? So, I do not have to manually enter it every time. Also, when I try and shutdown Ubuntu, it will halt during the process and say, "weak file system" on the screen, the screen will just appear stuck and not properly turn off the notebook. Any help would be appreciated thanks...
