Hi

I recently upgraded to 11.04 but am struggling with the screen resolution. The max it will give me is 1024 by 768 which looks dreadful. I seem to recall having a similar issue when I upgraded to 10.04 but cannot for the life of me remember what I did to fix it.

Apparently my graphics card is controlled by intel corporation mobile 4 series chipset integrated graphics controller (this means nothing to me)

I would appreciate any help. I might have to roll back otherwise.

Thanks

System, Administration, Hardware Drivers: let it check for updates and post back with the results. You may need to type 'Hardware Drivers' into the search box to get to the relevant place, if you're running a Unity desktop (i.e. not running a 'Ubuntu classic' desktop).

Do you have System, Administration, Additional Drivers? If so, use that.

Hi Cavh

I checked that and it was empty. To be honest, after a couple of days of fiddling about I decided to do a clean install of 10.04 which is what I am running now. I'll probably stick with this for the life of my laptop, but thanks for trying to help.
