In Windows I use a voip program like Voipraider to phone from PC to landline or mobile phones. I wanted to do the same in Ubuntu but the software I have installed only gives me the chance to use it via the website, I cannot install it to the computer.

I then searched for information and read about softphones and SIP and that but I have to confess I am a little (or a lot...) loss about it...

Basically my question are:
- Can I use software like Ekiga, Linphone, etc to phone using my previous Voipraider account? If yes, how? (I have money there that I still want to use)
- Can I use software like Ekiga, Linphone, etc in a similar way as I use the Voipraider, Voipbuster, etc in Windows? If yes, how?
- feel free to add any relevant information not directly related with the questions.

thanks for your help.

Hey!
Why nobody replies on this question? Does someone know how to connect a VoIP client in Ubuntu?
