Ctrl+alt+del doesn't have the same 'stop everything, do THIS' effect as it has on windows. It may be a bug with the program, try checking out launchpad (bug centre) Here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/

Or you may have a problem with the cd/usb/wubi install. Burn cd again, (slow speed setting) recopy the usb carefully, etc. Try a reinstall, basically. 10.10 is a release behind, so you may want to get 11.04 instead.

Or you may have a hardware problem. If none of the above yield any joy, report back and tell us what hardware you're using.

A little more detail always helps! :)

Launchpad not give anything?

If I were you, if you're having problems and you think they're hardware oriented, google ubuntu <hardware here> If there's lots of hits, multiple threads, an official solution, it generally means your hardware's got problems. Read the forum threads and proposed solutions. Graphics cards seem to cause the most problems.

However, I wouldn't have said that this sounded like a hardware problem. What are you trying to do with the remote desktop software?

Um...what? You're trying to run a pc with no monitor? That's ...brave.=D> Yep, try not updating and see what happens.

Um..right. So you connect your small boxes to the big box and it generates better performance?

Thanks for the link. :D
