View Full Version : [SOLVED] Can't change gdm background in XFCE

I had this problem in Xubuntu Natty where my gdm theme reset to a generic theme with a plain black background. I saw a post saying that installing gnome-settings-daemon could fix this, and after installing it the gdm itself was fixed, but now I have this ugly brown background that I can't change. I installed gdm-tweaker, but the wallpaper I set didn't show up. Is there something else I can do to fix this?

Make sure that the image file you set as the wallpaper has the correct permissions, readable for all.

If it nevertheless doesn't show up, take a look at this guide, the traditional way:

Well, that was easy. And here I was thinking it would be something more complicated then that XD thank you, now I just need to remember this if I ever want to change my login background
