Advanced search tool for ubuntu 9.10

I can t run windows so i am saving the files (to install ubuntu 11.04)...i need a good search tool cuz i can t remember the names of folders where are my picures...(i go to file systems-host-and then it just freezes the screen)

when you open /home, where all your data & conf files stand, the browsing program named "nautilus" have a search field on top.
