Dvdrom no longer works

I installed 10.04.02, and the internal dvdrom worked great, but I have ungraded to 11.04 and now when I put a disc into the drive... nothing. How do I get the system to use my drive again?

Did you install any extra drivers that may be required? Open up your application screen and click on additional drivers and let it search for it.

System Setting -> Hardware -> Additional Drivers came up with nothing.

I am having the same problem only with a PowerPC 64 bit G5 desktop and the internal "Super" dvd combo drive...anyone have any help?
