Proprietary drivers should be illegal. We already payed for the damned hardware, now give the specs and the code for open drivers.

...and that is why I use ati, that hope that someday the opensource drivers will be better than the propriety ones.

The improvement in the AMD/ATi driver stack over the last 2 years has been phenomenal. This is due to AMD's support. With AMD's continuing support there is no reason why we won't eventually have a better open-source stack than closed.
