Hi,
I'm a gmail user. how can we keep the gmail toolbar from floating? I hate that! I'm a keyboard-shortcut user, so there is no need to see the buttons all the time. Also, the toolbar takes up space that should go to my viewing my emails.
I use Chrome browser. Please tell me of a way to keep the toolbar from following me.

Why are you asking us, ask Google it's there service, and it barely takes up any space unless your using a netbook, but even then, you could hide the bookmarks to save that important space for reading email.
Have you tried looking through the Lab options in the settings?
Or use a applications like evolution or thunderbird to read your email.

I ask the Ubuntu community because this Ubuntu community is known for being very helpful with different sorts of questions.

Unless there's something in the labs tab in the preferences I don't think there's much else you can do. Some userscript perhaps to use with greasemonkey? It doesn't take up that much space though, I hardly ever notice it.
