Can anyone recommend me a sound card that is 100% compatible with linux and has GOOD sound quality? I'm thinking about replacing my onboard sound. I also have an Extigy but half the things don't work with linux.

Good 'ol SoundBlaster Live! gets my recommendation. Most of the bad memories people have with that card seem to be related to it's Windows-drivers for which Creative was notorious over. I recently compared a Live! Value over an onboard 6-channel soundcard and the sound quality is noticeably better on the Live!, although maybe not as good as with Creative's later offerings. Live! also supposedly has good hardware features that make it light on the CPU (unlike it's later sibling, the SoundBlaster 24-bit edition that was utter crap). Also, if you can get your hands on one, an early Live! or Live! 1024/Value card will be very cheap too on the used market.
