I might be getting a used MSI R6950 unlocked to a 6970 soon for around 100 bucks! I'm so stoked, it'll be such an improvement over my RS780 north bridge graphics (HD 3000). Currently the bidding is at $51 US and only 2 days left!

I picked up a new EVGA 6250LE PCI for $35CDN a couple of months back. The early Intel atom based motherboards only have 1 pci slot, now I can use XBMC on my 32" Samsung at 1920X1080. :)

I think they was yours.. hehe j/k.. I didnt get any I was just joking.

I got like 3 very good cards put up in boxes. A Radeon4670, NV8800 and I believe a another newer nVida card only a few years older. Plus a few AGP NV5200, 6300 and a older Radeon one that low profile. They all have DVI connections so their not to to old.

DVI is at this point considered legacy, it's a 1999 connection. Beats vga though.

DVI isn't legacy My graphics card had 2 DVI and one mini HDMI connector on it. Its a Nvidia 460 GTX, which is pretty recent of a card.

DVI is HDMI in just a different shape.

It was considered legacy last time I checked. Not that I agree of course, I use DVI in all my monitors, and my graphics card also has 2 DVIs, though it's a 3 year old 9600 GT.

Surprised you are going Radeon and not Nvidia. VDPAU is why I stick with Nvidia myself, but I hear things have gotten much better on the Radeon front

I went with the radeon for a few reasons:

1. Hybrid crossfire with my onboard card.
2. Much better performance than a comparable nvidia card
3. Price

Also, AMD supports UVD from Catalyst 8.10 onward through XvBA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Video_Bitstream_Acceleration).
