View Full Version : [ubuntu] 11.04 Kernel Upgrade - Cannot Boot

Hello all,

I am running 11.04, and have been running fine on the .8 Kernel.
I have tried previously to upgrade to the .9 Kernel, but would get stuck on booting at a specific point everytime, and had to just stay with .8. I didn't know enough to troubleshoot.
.10 was released, and I thought what the heck...I will update. (came from Update manager).
After the installation and required restart, I am unable to get into any Kernel in normal mode. Even my old trusty .8.
Upon boot, it hangs at "ALSA is not active, cannot start TiMidity++ ALSA midi emulation" and goes no further.

Any ideas here? Remember, you are talking with a Linux noob please.

Thank you.

Chris
